Stoppers
We offer one of the widest ranges of stoppers in the UK, which are available for sale or hire. Standard applications include air testing, blanking and flow by-pass.
Please note that for situations where high pressure testing is required, we are also able to supply the complete pressure testing kits, from flanges and hydrants to actual test rigs. Full technical support is available to ensure our customers receive the most appropriate equipment for their purposes.
Althon Ltd strongly recommends that in situations where a stopper is used where there is possibility of back pressure, suitable bracing should be utilised.
Expanding Stoppers
We manufacture a wide range of aluminium expanding pipe stoppers which are available for next day delivery. These stoppers are widely used for basic air testing and general sealing of pipes. They are easy to use and if maintained appropriately then they can be re-used indefinitely.

Multi-Test Stoppers
Multi-Test stoppers offer the latest design in inflatable stoppers. A combination of several tried and tested theories and designs, these stoppers suit situations requiring a more flexible approach to air testing and blanking off. Multi-Test stoppers cover a range of sizes, so for example a 350mm pipe would be covered using the 300/400 stoppers.

Inflatable Stoppers
Inflatable stoppers can be used to completely stop a flow within a pipeline. The backpressure of head of water that the stopper can withstand depends on the operating range of the stoppers and the internal diameter of the pipe in which the stopper will be inflated.

Milltest Stoppers
Althon Milltest stoppers are an inflatable ring, with a central membrane and are designed for use on a standard air test of 100mm of water over air.
Milltest stoppers are lightweight and easily transported, and when deflated can easily be passed trough a restricted opening. more details >>
Air Bag Stoppers
Nylon or canvas air bags are ideal to use when light maintenance is required on a pipeline. Made up of a central bladder, surrounded by a nylon or canvas outer bag giving protection to the inner bladder.
