Stage 5 IllustrationTreatment Stage 5 - Attenuation SEL Permafilter®  Flow Control Chamber

The SEL Permafilter® Flow Control Chamber is used to restrict the flow from the SEL Permavoid® units when the SEL Source Control System is being used to provide attenuation.

The small head differential and extremely low velocities within the system allow for flow to be controlled by a simple orifice plate. The flow control also incorporates a removable and replaceable debris screen to protect the outflow pipe.

By virtue of source control, sites are divided into many small catchments each individually controlled. Consequently interconnecting pipework is minimal, small diameter (generally not greater than 150mm diameter) and at shallow depth.

The SEL Permafilter® Flow Control Chambers are manufactured to suit precise invert levels, and orifice plates are tailor made to suit individual requirements.

The silt capacity within the flow control chamber sump offers an additional phase of water treatment.
